Hi, did you enable the debug mode? I am testing it with SEF enabled and get no similar problem. I will do more tests but for now I have no idea what can be wrong there

Could the problem occurs when you installed other components. My site is installed JComents, hwdVideoShare and XMap.
Moreover, the problem arises when it in global configuration / SEO seting / Search Engine Friendly URLs is YES

The problem occurs when SEO Setings is set as follows:
Search Engine Friendly URLs = Yes
Use Apache mod_rewrite = Yes
Add suffix to URLs = No

NO PROBLEM :
Search Engine Friendly URLs = No
Use Apache mod_rewrite = No/Yes
Add suffix to URLs = No

But I want SEO to be included

Hi Jan, same story here ...
I have Joomla native SEF enabled and when I create a sub-category I got this error.
Also consider that the sub-category gets created anyway, but I bet this error is confusing for the potential user...

I am doing other tests and the same error pops up even when uploading images. I mean, the images are eventually loaded, but the user gets the error. I have enabled the debug messages and this is what I get as details for the error:

Hi, tried to enable logging. And these results:

1. In one case, after the establishment of reference looks like this:

And in other cases, the link looks like this:

If SEO is disabled, then the links have the following form:
http://www.nf-project.ru/index.php?opti ... &Itemid=90
and everything works fine, but without the SEO as it is not very well looked ((

I will take a look at it, for now it works for me with standard SEF enabled, maybe there needs to be added some new feature into some other SEF

I also have this problem when add subcategory or upload images. my sef is on.
when the return url is like http://www.XXXX.com/component/phocagallery/?tab=X , the 500 error happen.
in my site this return url was wrong, it should be "http://www.XXXX.com/photos/?tab=X ".

I found the subcategory and upload image form has "Itemid" hidden parameter, and it's value always is "1", this value is wrong, so the joomla sef can't get the right url. so i change the code in "default_images.php" , in line 306, change <?php echo JRequest::getVar('Itemid', 1, 'get', 'int') ?>"/> to <?php echo JRequest::getVar('Itemid', 1, 'default', 'int') ?>"/>. and the upload image is ok. no 500 happen. And i also change such code in other php file in tmpl directory.
