I have a site running Joomla 1 with Gallery 2 using the G2 Bridge. It works OK and it is a pretty large site with a lot of users.
I am now planning to upgrade to Joomla 1.5 but the bridge for G2 is not ready yet and I don't think I have time to wait for that. So I am now looking for alternatives to Gallery 2.
My requirements is like this:
1.
Users has to be able to create their own gallery/albums as subalbums in a membersection. Userrights for this has to be that everyone can see the items but only the user and admin can manage it.
2.
Several subgallerie levels.
3.
Selected users can have full rights to manage and upload.
4.
Easy navigation between albums and their levels.
Is this something that Phoca can deliver?
The site in question is: www.camaroclubsweden.com

Re: Questions abut Phoca
I only have experience on version 2.1.0
The user can create his own category on the album, and thats the only one he can manage. But he cannot create more categories, and no subcategories. 1 categorie for each user only.
The only thing a user can set on his category is name and description.

Hi, 2,3,4 ... yes...
1. User can create only one category (more categories are planned) but he can get different rights for different categories, see:

Re: Questions abut Phoca
I forgot another question,
How about multiple file upload, like a ZIP-file or selecting a folder on the server with multiple images in it?
We have sometimes several hundred images that needs to be uploade at once.
thanks

Hi, you can use:
- ftp
- flash upload
- java upload for multiple uploading of images... the problem of zip is, you cannot do only one zip file because if it will be large, it cannot be uploaded (server settings or server CPU or RAM limitations) so you need to do more zip files in every case... instead of this, ftp, flash or java upload is easier... via java upload you can upload e.g. 200 images but via ZIP you cannot...
