Hi, I got your mail but don't understand.
If you are displaying your images, they are of course accessible. If some image is displayed in user's browser, then if fact it is downloaded to this browser.
So, yes the image with watermark (thumbnail) is accessible and user can see the path to this image and can download it. But he/she will download image with watermark - this is why the watermark is there, because then the image is not usable for other purposes

Ok! Now I see the Topic from 06 june 2010. BUT, Here is a need of restricted access to the original files, in spite of the fact that the download button is hidden or not.
I cannot restrict access to folder that contains the source images, because there is a sub-folder called "thumbnais" in it. And I intend to keep all the images in the same place in the future not to mess up a lot of things.
The only reasonable solution for me at this moment is to CHMOD 000 the source files. It is very uncofortable, but at least secure.
P.S. I think the source files must be placed far from the thumbnails files, at least not in the same folder called /images/phocagallery/

Yes, you can remove original from server (some feature will not work - recreating thumbnails, rotating, downloding original of course, etc.) or you can add watermarks to original images manually (not recommended as original image should work as sources for other feautures) or with server settings disable access to folders with original images.
Jan
Watermarks are added only to thumbnails not to original images. On the Phoca Demo site there is no protection against downloading original images, because it is a demo site. There is no need to do it. See above or search this forum to get more information about how to protect original images on the server.Where is your "so called" Watermark
