Frontend upload doesn't work

Post by ZioRiP »

Hi, this thing is making me feel retarded but after reading the documentation I still cannot make it work.
I have created a category tree with one main category and three subcategories. They all belong to the super user, but the access rights and the upload rights are set to All registered users. The Delete Rights are set to Super User only.
I have created the same structure of Category Folders and assigned all the proper folders to each category but whenever I login in the site I dont' see any way to upload any images. I have tried also through the user menu, but it doesn't work.
I have read about a 'user upload' setting, but honestly I couldn't find it.
I really don't know what else I should do.
Thanks in advance for the support.

Hi, unfortunately that's exactly what I have been using in order to set everything up... for instance in that page is mentioned the user folder, which I cannot find anywhere in the category creation or anywhere else.

Hi,
did you create a menu link to Phoca Gallery User Control Panel, and did you enable User Control Panel in Phoca Gallery Options?
If Yes, you should click in frontend to "User Control Panel" (UCP),
you should see this form, and the tab "User" is meant with "user folder" in the Documentation. (I think..)

Kind regards,
Benno

Yes, I did, but although I have created the proper permissions (according to my opinion, which I bet is wrong lol) structure for that group of users in that folder, the system warns me that there are no categories in which the user can upload.
By the way I am considering not using gallery as I need a system that allows me to upload any files (in the due category) so I am now watching phoca downloads, it's a pity that front end users cannot set the preview image of the file, I am about to request it as a feature.
Thanks for the support.
