I don't anderstand the Phoca Download File Module. I read many pages on the forum, but don't find an answer.

This module is listing the files of a category, but when you click on a filename on the module, you go to the category file list
Am i alone thinking it's not logic ?

When i click on the filename, i wan't to download the file, not to show again a list of the files.

Did i miss something on the settings of the module ? Is there a way to download the file directly from the module ?

Hi, the module is not only listing the files of a category but the module displays list of files (which can be from different categories - e.g. mostly this module is used as latest files module) and the link is to place where the file is located, it means to its category.

They can be different interpretations where the links should link:

a) the link should directly download the file - because (I don't know the reason, but maybe there is)
or
b) the link should display the file in its place (in its category) - to see e.g. description of the file, statistics e.g., comments, e.g. more details, etc. As I wrote, mostly this module is used as latest file module and includes files from different categories, so the link to place of the file's category gives more information (which category is stored the file, other files from this category - e.g. files which need to be installed with the file, description, statistics, etc.)

Mostly the b) is preffered, this is why the module includes link to the place where the file is located. But of course, this can be easily customized in the code so the link will directly download the file.
