Error creating categories - need title

I've used Phoca Gallery on my Joomla 1.5 live site, and on my localhost 1.7 test site - no problems at all. But now I'm running my 1.7 site on the live server, when I try to create new categories I get an error message telling me I need a title for the category. I've tried several times, with different category names, but it just keeps giving the error.

I'm using Phoca Gallery 3.1.1 which is the version for Joomla 1.7, and I'm the only user, so I haven't changed any options or permissions. Any suggestions to cure this, or to find out more?

this is an often asked isue. Search this forum & check your database tables.
