cannot see or add any categories or stuff

Howdy...

after i upgraded to the latest version of phoca gallery, i am no more able to see categories.
whenn i watch die images in the joomla backend, i can see, to which category they are related.

While upgrading no erroers where shown. to me it seems, that it should work, but it doesn't

i am a new to phoca and joomla, but i have to learn, cause i just received the administration... so plz help getting in work

Can you please explain your problem more specific? Maybe give us a link to your frontend

Did you push the install or upgrade button on installation of the component?

i used the upgrade function...

the problem to me lies in the backend... in the frontend view there's everything ok... the galleries are functional and can be reached...

but i i want to add a new category, then i go to the register "kategorien". there i would expect to see the existing categories, which i don't see. and after i created a new one, i even cannot see the new one.

so i think it will be a problem adding new content or just work on the existing images??

or am i doing something wrong???

not sure, how to describe it better....

Have you tried to reinstall the upgrade?

hm...

i reinstalled it, but without any success...

and i don't get any error messages, when i set up a new category... i just can't see them after all, aswell as the onces that have existet in the old version...

but the images i can view are related to categories.... so to me it seems, that there ist something wrong...
maybe i'll do some screenshots to make it clearer...

Hi,
Kategorien werden in der Datenbank erstellt. Deshalb solltest Du Dir mal, wie in dem Link den ich Dir gepostet habe beschrieben, Deine Datenbank zum Beispiel mit phpMyAdmin ansehen.
Für Kategorien ist die Tabelle jos_phocagallery_categories zuständig.

Sehr gut, das ist schon mal die halbe Miete....
Ich würde vorschlagen, dass Du zunächst ein komplettes Backup (Datenbank & Dateien) machst, dass Du dann Phoca Gallery noch einmal herunterlädst: http://joomlacode.org/gf/download/frsre ... v2.7.3.zip und auf Deinem Rechner entpackst. Das entpackte Verzeichnis lädst per FTP nach /dein_joomla/tmp hoch. Falls da noch irgend etwas drin ist, vorher löschen! Dann:
backend --> Erweiterungen --> Installieren/Deinstallieren --> Aus Verzeichnis installieren --> Installieren
Im Phoca Auswahlfenster Upgrade auswählen.
Hoffentlich klappts.

Hm,

ich habs genau so erneut installiert. Leider mit dem gleichen Ergebnis....
Es kommt kein Fehler "....successfully installed...." Aber nach wie vor kann ich keine Kategorien sehen.

Nicht das ich hier am Ende etwas falsch verstehe und es ein Bedienerfehler ist: In der Kategorienübersicht sollte man schon alle vorhandenen Kategorien sehen können, oder??
