1. "ratings" can be disabled in the product view
I do not see it in the options

HI,
1.) backend --> Components --> Phoca Cart --> Control Panel --> Options --> Dispay --> Category and Items View (Products View) --> Display Star Rating=Yes/No

2.) Try to rotate portrait oriented images with an extern program before uploading.
