- Where does the "best time to post" data come from?
- It's synthesized from several independently published studies by social media scheduling companies (Buffer, Sprout Social, Metricool and others), each analyzing millions of posts. They don't fully agree with each other, so we've blended them into a general weekday/weekend pattern per platform rather than claiming false precision down to the minute.
- Why does it matter if I'm awake when I post?
- Most platforms weight early engagement heavily when deciding how widely to distribute a post. If your audience is active but you're asleep and can't reply to the first comments, you lose some of that early momentum. Primetime shows both factors separately so you can see the actual overlap.
- Does this reflect my specific followers?
- No - it reflects broad, published research about each platform's audience in general. If you have your own analytics showing when your specific followers are active, trust those over this general guide.
- Why is LinkedIn so different on weekends?
- LinkedIn usage drops sharply outside working hours and on weekends across every study we looked at - it's a workday-driven platform. TikTok and Instagram, by contrast, tend to hold up well or even improve on weekends.
- Is any of my data sent to a server?
- No accounts, no tracking cookies. Primetime looks up common cities from a small built-in list instantly; anything else is resolved through a public geocoding lookup called directly from your browser. All the estimation happens locally.
