- An enzyme cleaner: saturate fully — enzymes need contact time to break down the residue.
- Wipe clean with a damp cloth and dry the surface fully so no residue film is left behind.
Do not do this
- Hot or warm water. Heat cooks the stain into the fibers, making it permanent.
- Ammonia-based cleaners. Mixed with certain stains it can release harsh fumes or set protein.
- Steam cleaning before spot-treating. Heat can set the stain before the enzyme cleaner gets a chance to work.
- Any heat source (iron, hair dryer, tumble dryer). Heat on microfiber can bond the stain permanently or warp the material.
- Soaking the microfiber. Oversaturating this material causes water rings, warping, or permanent staining of its own.
