How to remove Mascara from Microfiber

Waterproof formulas are built to resist water, so alcohol is what actually breaks the pigment loose, and many microfiber blends water-spot badly and clean best with a solvent-only method.

Step by step
- Test first: dab your chosen agent on a hidden corner of the microfiber and wait 2–3 minutes to confirm no discoloration.
- Rubbing alcohol: dab with alcohol on a cotton pad, working from the edge in.
- Dish soap: work a tiny amount into the spot on a barely-damp cloth, then wipe off immediately — do not saturate the material.
- Wipe clean with a damp cloth and dry the surface fully so no residue film is left behind.
Do not do this
- Hot or warm water. Heat cooks the stain into the fibers, making it permanent.
- Rubbing the spot. It pushes the stain deeper and spreads it outward.
- Any heat source (iron, hair dryer, tumble dryer). Heat on microfiber can bond the stain permanently or warp the material.
- Soaking the microfiber. Oversaturating this material causes water rings, warping, or permanent staining of its own.
