the character (!) in the filename will be removed on fileuploads; also it is not possible to rename any file from
e.g. xxx.exe to !xxx.exe


renaming was possible in earlier versions; please help because my files must start with (!) in the filename

Hi, which version of Phoca Commander do you run?

In the latest versions we are forced to take security measures and many useful features are unfortunately limited due to pressure from both security experts and Joomla core developers.

Regarding renaming, as a super user you have a new parameter where you can set what can be renamed and what cannot.
See parameter:
Disallowed Edit Extensions

you can change and remove the protection based on your needs.

I will do the same for the extensions with ! etc in next version, see:

Allow Special Characters in Uploaded Filenames (you can set that e.g. ! will be not stripped from filenames while upload)

i installed the latest version 6.1.3 and managed my settings and woala, uploading and renaming wiht special character (!) works
