Migrating Phoca Gallery from Joomla 3.10x --> 4.x

Hello,

I'm not sure, but the tutorial https://www.phoca.cz/documents/50-jooml ... o-joomla-4 seems to be for beginning with a plain Joomla 4 Installation and afterwards migrating the database tables for Phoca Gallery from the 3.10.x database to the new database.

But I want to migrate an existing Joomla 3.10.x installation with its content and not starting with a plain installation and database.

Because Phoca Gallery for Joomla 3.10.x isn't compatible with Joomla 4, I would deinstall Phoca Gallery completely in Joomla 3.10.x before starting the migration to Joomla 4 in the backend. But deinstallation of Phoca Gallery will not delete the Phoca Gallery tables in the database, so they will still exist.

After migration to Joomla 4 I would install the compatible version of Phoca Gallery.

Do I have to remove the Phoca Gallery tables in the database before installing Phoca Gallery in Joomla 4 and do the migration steps as described in the tutorial, or is it possible to leave the existing Phoca gallery tables in the database and just installing Phoca Gallery?

No, Phoca Gallery Database tables will be deleted during uninstalling the component.

Kind regards,

Sure? I think the database tables will not be deleted.

At least the database tables from some former installed and meanwhile deleted components like Acepolls, Acymailing, jEvents, Kunena Forum and mijipolls are still there.
