Hi there,

I recently tried to install Phoca Guestbook. Everything seems to be fine, except the basic parameters. They are not showing up! It's just an empty white box, while the other paramaters are working correctly. I re-installed Phoca Guestbook a couple of times, but that doesn't work. I also used different browsers. Please check the screenshot below, so you can see it yourself



I'm using Joomla 1.5.14 (Dutch version) in combination with Phoca Guestbook 1.3.2 I've installed Phoca Guestbook by FTP installation, otherwise I'm getting a time-out error.

Hi, try to check if all files were installed on your server, see the front folder of phoca guestbook component if there are all files and folders (compare it with ZIP file - folder front)

Jan, I don't think there is anything wrong with the installation, because I unzipped com_phocaguestbook_v1.3.2 and uploaded it to my server via FTP, they way you decribe it in "installation problem solving". When I check the source of the page, I see there is no table created for 'Paramaters (basic)' with content, while there is a table created for the other two paramaters.

Obviously, I'm not the only one having this error. I hope you can help us, because I can't use Phoca Guestbook at the moment. Thanks

components\com_phocaguestbook\views\phocaguestbook\tmpl\default.xml

default.xml is located on my server in components/com_phocaguestbook/front/views/phocaguestbook/tmpl/
The file is 1,14kb and seems to be fine. But what information do you need exactly?

Try to see this parameter if this contain the parameters which are missed by your site. If there is this file (xml) and it contains all the neccessary parameters, then there is somewhere problem in Joomla! framework which should load these parameters to displaye them in menu link (maybe some files are missed in Joomla! framework ??? )

Jan, look at the XML below. Are you sure this is ok? Because the 'Select Guestbook' parameter seems to be different than the other ones. They are between <params> and select guestbook isn't.

If the file is ok, is there another way to set these parameters? By hand within the database for example, so I can use Phoca Guestbook in the end.

Hi, the xml is OK, no idea why this is not loaded in menu link parameters
try to check the elements folder:

/administrator/components/com_phocaguestbook/elements

if there are some files

There are 8 files within this map. Is is possible that you add me on msn, so we can discuss it overthere? Just PM me if that's ok.

this should be everythink OK. maybe reinstalling all (joomla and component) will help
