Hi and thank you for this excelent component

While testing 1.2.0 beta I notest that the stats on downloading from an external source (eg sourceforge) are not working while on local files work OK.
Also when using Bottom with Details and overlib stats also are not showing
A nice addition to your module would be if a specific category could be displayed

Any help would be welcome

Hi,

1) yes, this is a feature, you cannot save some data from exteranl server, so stats for external links cannot work
2) Did you check the settings (e.g. in parameters you can set that it will be not displayed) check javascript seetings on your browser too.

I was wondering if there is a workaround for the stats. Link to some .html that redirects to sourceforge maybe...?

Hi, there is no workaround because in fact this is not possible. You cannot access some external server and see the count of donwloaded file. Of course you can customize it so you will set the external server to send information about downloads and you will make some script which will get this information and will save them to the database. But as Phoca Download cannot be ready for unlimited count of external servers and unlimited count of systems, there is no possible to add such behaviour into it
Yes, next option can be add link to some internal site, where the count will be saved and then reload it to the external server. But in this case, it is no more direct link

I understand what you are saying.
Maybe as a workaround phocadownload could count the times someone clicked on the link ( I know that this may be not accurate) but it could give some idea.
Could something like this be implented?

you cannot count it, if this is not link to your server where you can work with variables in link, you cannot count it as the variables can be work only on external server
