Placing downloads on content pages

Hello,

Nice to be a member here and thanks for the great components.

Phoca Download looks to be an excellent component - I just hope it will do the following:

Instead of a straight download file listing - i.e. Component Link - I need a download manager that will enable me to place download objects on content pages, e.g. article pages.

I would think this could be achieved using a bot so that a tag could be embedded in an article, e.g.:

{PhocaDownload-File1.zip}

This would then display the same details and graphics as the straight file listing.

Can Phoca Download do this?

Thanks.

Exceptional Jan - thanks very much - looks like I have finally found my ideal Download Component :D

Another very much needed feature for downloads and also for displaying Video and MP3 content is timed, sequential delivery.

In membership sites it is a huge issue with people joining for a month, downloading, watching or listening to all the content, and then cancelling again.

What is needed seems very simple:

A component that enables the display of Articles and Components, perhaps even Menu items, based on subscription date of the member.

So the member would immediately see the first content, and then after 30 days for example the next content would be revealed and so on.

This can be achieved in a couple of ways:

1. In article, component or menu admin, include an additional field: "Display to Members after <days>"

2. A plugin - I still think in terms of "bots" - so that we can place it as a tag e.g. {Display=30 days}.

Of course all content before will remain displayed, so the 60 day content will still include the 30 day content.

The tag could also be placed in an article so that content above the tag is always displayed, but content below the tag is only displayed after the specified time, e.g. 30 days, and/or to encourage people to join by saying "to read all of this page you need to become a member first" and then link to the Registration page or other lik.

So many people are looking for this Jan - it would make me and them very happy :D

Dear Jan,
Can we set this plugin by browse the folder with add button in the article? it will be more practice if displaying phoca download to the article not only by code but can by browse the folder and find selective file (popup).
Thank you,

Regards,
Adi

Hi, this is planned like by Phoca Gallery. As I am not able to do all the things because of time, I don't know when I find time to do it :-(
