I really would like

I really would like to use this component, but I've run into a major problem

Component appears to install OK on 1.5RC3. Next I make a 'Category'. Then I upload pics to the phocagallery directory from the media manager. Finally I try to add pics to the Gallery and nothing happens. I get the 'Error saving filename' message.

BTW -- All directories are chmod 777. Also checked that problem is same in FF and IE.

Help!

Phoca Gallery cannot

Phoca Gallery cannot save the data on your server.

Possible problems:
- permissions
- GD library doesn't work
- not enough memory for creating thumbnails

see e.g.: index.php?action=vthread&forum=1&topic=11

Try to see, if there are some files or folders in folder:
joomla/images/phocagallery/

Thanks Jan

But...

1. Permission of all directories is set for 777

2. GD Support enabled
GD Version bundled (2.0.34 compatible)
FreeType Support enabled
FreeType Linkage with freetype
FreeType Version 2.3.5
GIF Read Support enabled
GIF Create Support enabled
JPG Support enabled
PNG Support enabled
WBMP Support enabled
XBM Support enabled

3. Thumbnails are getting created when I open up the "Gallery...New...Image" pop up window.

And I read through the posting re: "Phocagallery doesn't work on Joomla 1.5 RC3"

So - does it or doesn't it work on 1.5 RC3? Should I wait until 1.5 final release?

Phoca Gallery works

Phoca Gallery works under Joomla! 1.5 RC3 - see demo

but some users have some problems...

- Maybe you cannot access the database... Do you have the table called #__phocagallery (jos_phocagallery) in your database... Maybe there can be problem

See if the thumbnails are created (joomla/images/phocagallery/ folder)
See if there are data in your table (jos_phocagallery)

Hi Jan

Problem solved. Seems the Phoca Gallery database tables didn't get installed. To solve the problem I simply ran the SQL call from the "install.sql" in phpMyAdmin and it now works like a charm.

One request from future versions - a slot for a brief description for each individual photo.

Great work
Thanks
