Hi!

Just upgraded gallery to newest version. Everything seems to work fine, but inside a category I can only see 20 thumbnails on one page, and the buttons are not there (next, back, show XX pictures per page"). If i click on one of the thumbnails, browsing works just fine through all of the pictures.

Someone knows why this is possbile?

Yep, i also upgraded from 1.5.x to the new version and have the same problem.
To get around it untull this is fixed, i went in the Administrator Config of Joomla and changed the Pagination parameter from 20 to 100 (maximum).
But now i have very long pages for the photo's.

Luckely i don't have more then 100 photos in a category

Hello Jan,

I indeed read that and already did it, but it did not help.
I just tried to change the Parameter SEF to OFF and then i do see the pagination, but the the category view gets mixed up (instead of 4 category's i see ALL the subcategories also etc).
If i change the parameters in the menu, i get the default parameters and if i say to the menu to get the default, i get the previous menu parameter.
I will look into this today a little more and also will place some screenshots here for clarity.
I can not show you the site, because it is not online yet.

Oke, i have done some further testing.
I have problems with the Internet Explorer from MS.
In FireFox, i can get everything to work, so it must be some kind of CSS problem. And since my guest (about 80%) are using IE, i would like to show it as good as possible to them.

1) If i disable SearchEngineFriendly, i can change a lot of settings, but they don't solve the problem.
2) I have edited the menu and also the default parameters in the gallery, but that does not solve the problem.
3) I had no problem with an earlier version (1.4.6 version), although i would like to have the new options

Oke, here are some pictures (i am not sure how to get them in the message, so i use url's to the pictures, don't look at the site where the pictures are since that is still the old software instead of joomla).

This is how a page should look at the end (firefox does this right).


This is how IE 6 and IE 7 display the same page, first the top of the page:


Next the bottom with SEF on, without any pagenumbers anymore.


And now IE if SEF is off, the template breaks down. The bottom bar with copyright notice, suddenly disappears and shows partly on the left.


The only way to show it correct in IE is if i say to the systemsconfig that i want to show 100 items (photo's) and that i don't have more then 99 photo's in a category.
But that takes some time to load the page.

This problem doesn't relate to SEF... It is the float (CSS or HTML) problem... Try to change your template, only for testing...

I tried the default template from joomla 1.5 (rhuk_milkyway), but that has the same problem.
No next/previous page or numbers if the photo's are shown.
I tried disabling Legacy mode, with this template, but that also did not help.


Something else that i noticed with the display of the phoca gallery: my RSS feed link disappears when the photo's are shown.
On every page i have the feed generator, but on the photopages it disappears.
It should be in the LEFT column as last item, but it is gone also.

Did you upgrade? If yes, go to menu link and save the menu to your gallery again:

I have now the pagenumbers back, but only by disabling the SEF.

For me it works, but the url's are not really friendly anymore
