Setting Default OG Fields for Categories in Phoca Open Graph

Hello,
I'm currently using the Phoca Open Graph plugin on my site and it works well for setting the OG data on a per-article basis.
However, many of my articles are in categories that all use the exact same og:image on a per-category basis.
Instead of having to set the og:image manually per each article, can you add an option to set the og:image on a per-category basis? That would save me much time having to add it hundreds of times per article.
Thank you!

Hi, there are four possible methods to display images, see:

So maybe, the best method is to set image for each article

Setting the image manually for each article is a pain in the butt because many of our articles are automatically generated yet all need to have the same og image.
The option I need is to automatically set a specific og image for each category.
E.g. articles in the "PvP" category all need this og image:
https://torcommunity.com/images/phocaop ... og-pvp.jpg
Articles in the "Patch Notes" category all need this og image:
https://torcommunity.com/images/phocaop ... -notes.jpg
The articles in those categories are automatically generated by the hundreds and I do not want to go through each and everyone one manually...but they need different og images so I cannot do a global og image either. I cannot use the intro images because those are used differently on the site (as thin banners).
Any help is appreciated!

Hi,
Setting the image manually for each article is a pain in the butt because many of our articles are automatically generated yet all need to have the same og image.
This is a Joomla! feature, it allows to add image to the article, so the plugin just add this option so such image can be displayed in og meta tags.
If your articles are automatically generated, then there should be simple way to automatically add image to the article - but this is not the feature of the plugin, it is about how you add articles to the Joomla! and how Joomla! can provide specific feature - to assign image to article.
So if your articles include images, then just let the plugin to find it in introtext or fulltext and use this image
As written above, the plugin tries to use all the methods which are available in Joomla! - it does not have and it cannot have any feature to manage images, they are managed by Joomla! itself - by its methods, the plugin just tries to use the methods which are available (to get images from parameters or to try to find them inside the article)
