Hi,
I have the same problem. Installed PhDownload, created a section/category, uploaded a file. The section link links the section page, so far so good. When I click on the category link, it loads the category page (/component/phocadownload/category/1-firstsection), but still the section content is displayed with the categories. When I link the item directly (component/phocadownload/category/1-firstsection?download=2%3Afile-ext) it goes back to the section page again. Also, on these pages the breadcrumb won't work.

I had to fool around with some SEF solutions, before that, everything worked fine. I uninstalled these, also un- and reinstalled PhDownload, still no success.

Any ideas?

sure!

Site: http://www.swatportal.hu/
The downloads box is on the bottom left ("Letöltések") with only one section ("Szövegek") and one category ("Általános"), and one "loremipsum.rtf" document in it.
Section link works fine, category link does not, most recent link does not, direct link does not.
Locally I tried it with the following global settings:
.htaccess turned off: does not work
joomla internal SEF turned off: works!
I need SEF turned on bad, for me it's not an option to turn off SEF.
So there must be something wrong with the SEF URL translation here.
Also, I tried to reinstall, redeploy everything onto a fresh joomla installation, same results (previously I thought the cause could be the different SEF solutions I tried, like JoomSEF, sh404, PhocaSEF - but this proved to be wrong).
Thanks for the help, please let me know if you need any further debug info!

I've looked through the forum for SEF references, and now I see there is a problem around PhocaDownload and SEF. (PATCH: Link to section/category, Weird Problem, Can't download my files, [BUG]Component don't working with SEF enabled, etc) I see you're dealing with the problem, so if I can help you any way, just let me know. :) BTW, you can use my e-mail, if you wish (tigrincs at tigrincs dot hu)
The funny is that I use PhocaGallery without any problems.
