Hi, see settings of Phoca Dowload, there should be PDF mime type... so maybe there is other problem, maybe with permissions or ownership of files, can you upload PDF file?

I can't find anywhere to set/edit mime types can someone tell me where to do it...

It is under the settings link ( index.php?option=com_phocadownload&view=phocadownloadset) in the administrator back end. There are two lists, one for allowed mime types and one for disallowed mime types.

Thanks for that, I am trying to force download mp3's but am having no success...
