Multiple adding images, categories and subcategories

Hello !
I'm creating a web site for a photographer with Joomla using Phoca Gallery and in "Images - Multiple add". I would like to select a folder (principalFolder) which contains subfolders (folder1, folder2, ...) and I would like Phoca Gallery to create a category for principalFolder and subcategories for each folder1, folder2.... But when I want to select my principalFolder, the browser opens it instead of select; and when I transform my principalFolder in to principalFolder.zip I have the error message: "Invalid file extension: principalFolder.zip".

Can you help me ?

Hi, sorry I don't understand, how you can transform the folder to zip file and why?

Hi !
Using the multiple add with Phoca Gallery, I can't select a folder which contains subfolders because it automatically opens a folder when I select it. So to select a folder which contains subfolders without opening it, I know we can transform it into zip file (right click -> send To -> Compressed (zipped) folder). So I tried but zip extension is not accepted and I understood my mistake: only images are accepted, no folders.

But I would like to be able to select a folder and create automatically a photo gallery for each subfolders. Because the photographer could have 250 subfolders which contain photos so he couldn't repeat 250 times the category creation... I tried with zip folder because I thought it could work but I am aware of any other solution :) I hope it was understandable :/

I'm first creating my web site locally with joomla, is it important ?
I am just starting to learn using joomla so I really don't know how to do ...

Hi, there is no ZIP feature, the folder needs to be standard folder, not a ZIP file.

Folder you can select when you select the checkbox - clicking of folder, you can see its content - like in all standard file managers.
