How To Get Category Links Obey SEF Menu Links

I am setting up Phoca Gallery and creating direct menu links to specific galleries. I want to do this for fast user access via menu system and also to assign specific modules to specific galleries.

The problem is that Phoca Gallery does not function as other components. For example in such situation, there are two links available for each gallery, causing SEO issues. When the user is navigating through the gallery thumbnail links, the URL is different than the URL derived when navigating via the menu link.

MENU LINK

COMPONENT THUMBNAIL LINK
.../photos/category/15-bitd

Is there any way to solve this issue? Any tips?

Hi, see:
https://www.phoca.cz/documents/16-joomla ... -in-joomla

Phoca Gallery doesn't create any SEF link (so it does not create two different SEF links). In Phoca Gallery, there is allways one system link which is then translated by Joomla! SEF JRoute method.

If you are using two or more menu links, then you have in your Joomla! more different menu links (SEF urls) to some parts of Phoca Gallery. But this does not depends on Phoca Gallery but on Joomla! SEF feature.

Hi guys, I apologize for my english

I'm experiencing the same problem with URL in Phoca Gallery. I'm already created menu links for my gallery categories, using a menu with no visible module, in this way:

Products (links to "Catalog" in another visible menu)
— First Category
— Subcategory a1
— Subcategory a2
— Subcategory a3
.
.
.
— Another Category
— Subcategory b1
— Subcategory b2
— Subcategory b3

Checking the breadcrumbs module, I get the navigation in this format:

Home> Catalog > First Category > Subcategory a1 (seems ok)

But, when I check the URL I get

mysite.com/catalog/first-category/subcategory-a1/*category/X-subcategory-a1*, where X is a number... maybe the (sub)category ID.

I want to get a "clean" URL, removing the string between asterisks, but this is created by Phoca Gallery component. If I delete the "/category/X-subcategory-a1" string, URL already works.

My site settings: mod_rewrite and SEF enabled and working fine.

Any ideas? Thank you so much.

I forgot an important detail: Pages rendered with correct URL uses the settings for displaying pagination, ordering, etc.

But URL with nasty "category/ID-subcategory-alias" shows "Ordering" and "Display Num" controls ever.

Thank you
