Fatal error during upgrade to v4.0.2

I have been getting a blank screen when upgrading. If I use the Joomla extension manager upgrade method, I get the blank screen before having the option to 'install or upgrade', and if I use the FTP method I get the screen with the 'install or upgrade' option but I then get the blank screen when I select 'upgrade'.

I switched on Error Reporting in the site configuration and retried the upgrade via FTP method and get:

Fatal error: Class 'JHtmlSidebar' not found in /var/www/vhosts/staffies.hostinguk.org/httpdocs/administrator/components/com_phocagallery/controller.php on line 46

I downloaded the controller.php file and looked at the code but line 46 only contains a '{' (open curly bracket).

Any advice would be welcomed. Thanks.

Just to add that I tried the upgrade on a local server and I get the same error as on the remote server. Any help out there please?

Hi, which Joomla! version you are using? It is not a Joomla! 2.5 component (there you can get such error), it is a Joomla! 3 component.

That explains it but the JED entry shows it as Joomla 2.5 and 3.x compatible. Perhaps some clarification is needed.

Thanks for your advice.

Hi, you can see the information on Phoca download page (which version is assigned to which Joomla! version)

On JED, there is only one item: Phoca Gallery component and such item includes all versions - for 1.5, for 2.5, for 3.x - so the one item is assigned for all supported version (1.5 was removed in JED as 1.5 is not more supported there) - of course it is not so easy with adding information about versions as there are more problems, like edit over 1000 items in short time which is not possible, etc

I hope, now it is Ok

Yes - I see what you mean. I would have understood if I'd looked more carefully on the download page. Thanks and sorry if I wasted your time. Regards.
