installation issue

After installation of Joomal 2.5.11 from the scratch I installed Phoca Gallery for Joomla 2.5 (com_phocagallery_v3.2.4.zip) according the manual.
Unfortunatelly the creation of categories is not possible. Furthertmore if I am going to create a new user error code 500 appears. Please give me some advice. Thanks a lot.
