I need a new module!

I use pHoca now ..I love it ..its great!
heres my request
I would like to have a module that I can pick which categories I want to display and the put them in a module position on my site.
I know menu module does this already , but I need thumbnails to accompany it, a photo gallery is driven by images not by text labels of the categories.
and wiht my categories, the name means almost nothing, its the photos people want to see
its like trying to describe a colorful object using only the radio.
so a module that would let me display a few categories with a representative thumb INSIDE a module would be perfect!
I could have a mod position with a handful of my favorite categories (with thumbs) that I could put on the front page.
or even several positions around the site with a few categories displayed.
This would be very handy.
