I have found several old post (2010 and older) about the (missing) Photo Gallery Button on Front end editor.

Is it ok to nicely ask about status on this issue?

Hi, this is possible in Phoca Gallery 3 (Joomla! 2.5) but you need to enable it in parameters of the plugin.
