Anti Spam Idea

Dear,
On my website (phoca guestbook + joomla is 100% up-to-date, phoca guestbook has re-captcha on!) i get every day about 3 to 10 spamposts in my guestbook. It is clear to me that those messages aren't done by bots, but by humans!
This is a short list of ip's where the spam come from:
...
Maybe an idea for the next update of phocaguestbook : block ipranges in stead of single ip's

If you see the ip's above i could block these ranges, and the problem is solved
...
So, maybe an interesting option?

I totally agree. I've been having the same problem lately.
All anti-spam measures in place, but still getting seveval posts per day.
All from the same ip-range (not the same range as yours). All in Russian, with something that google-translates to "like your site, want to share links"
Although blocking whole ip-range might be overkill, since the range probably belongs to an ISP.
For now I've added all of the Russion words to my forbidden words list and that seems to block a lot of them

Hi, in Phoca Guestbook you can ban IP ranges and of course do more security settings:
https://www.phoca.cz/documents/3-phoca-g ... -from-spam (in this article, there are not listed newest antispam methods used in Phoca Guestbook 3 - just see options)

Spam is a big problem for me too. Seems the spammers are using Google to search for "phoca guestbook". A review of my statistics logs revealed this. I also tested it by doing my own Google search for "phoca guestbook".
Perhaps every instance of guestbook could be removed for new installs. Too late for existing guestbooks, unless you're willing to change your guestbook location. Perhaps the developer could use Phoca Guest Registry instead of Phoca Guesbook. I suspect it could take years before the spammer change their search strings; decaptcha managers will probably want to keep search strings simple for its basic educated labor force.
"Guestbook" could still be used in marketing, and on the Phoca website - just not in the Guesbook script.
Just an idea...
Frank

Hi, the problem of common names is, the robot will learn it quickly, so every site using input field will be quickly found
If you will create some extension and it will be popular then it will be known for robots, if the extension will be not popular (means not good) then robots will not learn it. If your site will be popular, robots will try to attack it, if not then the robot will not come to your site
