User doesn't see categories when trying to upload photos

Good morning,

I installed the user control panel to allow for key users to be able to upload photos. I created a main category and a subsequent subcategory. When however the user logs in and tries to upload photos, the system tells him that there is no main category. In other words, he doesn't see the already existing main category. I checked the permissions on the main category and added his user id to the list of users who are authorized to upload / delete photos and did this for the main category as well as for the subcategory. Still, it gives the same result.

Apparently the user can create a new main category but the existing one is unaccessible to him.

What am I doing wrong please?

Thanks + B regards

Anybody got an idea on how to solve this please?
Surely if one uses this functionality, this must have been occuring in the past as well.
I am using Joomla version 2.5

Hi, if user will not create the main category in the UCP by himself, you need to set in administration:

- the category should have category folder (set in Category edit in administration)
- the category should have an owner - the user who will be able to upload there in UCP

Hi Jan,
thank you for your answer. This was already set
The category was called indoor vliegen, but when looking at the category name, it states
"gvannauw-indoor-vli-a14f"
I am marked as owner but the user has upload rights.

Don't know where the vli-a14f is coming from though ??
Could this be cause of the problem??

Hi, no this is random string for category to prevent before having duplicates. In UCP the user needs to be Owner.
