Phoca Gallery Themes Installing

Two issues with themes on Phoca.
1. I've first tried installing the Phoca Gallery Themes plugin and receive the following error
Component Install: The XML file did not contain an administration element
2. Then I tried manually installing a theme, but the only option I had was
Apply to Component (only Color Variation in Default Settings of Phoca Gallery component will be changed)
So I couldn't apply to category view, and the default one is seriously at odds with my theme.
I didn't have either of these options.
Apply to Categories (all Color Variation in all Phoca Gallery Categories Menu links will be changed) - only in Phoca Gallery 2.x

Joomla 2.5x Phoca 3.2.2
And i'm a bit confused by setting up category view options. Any suggestions?
