Database issues

Ok.. before anyone tells me to read previous posts. I have !! But there are far too many to read them all.
My problem is the 500 error that tables do not exist.
I have read the documentation, changed the table prefix, confirmed tables are actually in the right database and they are all present and correct.
But still says tables are not there ?
I have Joomla 2.5.7 and Phoca gallery 3.2.2 The installation of Phoca was a clean install not an upgrade. Joomla was a clean install no other extensions installed.
Any ideas anyone ?
