Gallery v2.8.1+ Joomla 1.5.26 Template changing

Hi,
I have an old but very big site working with jooma 1.5 and I have sections with different templates.
Each section have its own gallery that should change template according the theme selected in menu item option.
I'm in this situation:
Joomla NOT in SEF mode:
Template changes according menu settings.
Joomla in SEF mode:
Template is always the predefined one.
Obviously I prefer clean and SEF links, so...
Do you have some ideas?
