Less Thumbnail files?

I realized that phocagallery creates a lot of unused thumbnails which is fine, but if you thousands of images... it's a problem.

According to my hosting service (1and1), phoca gallery is currently using about 200,000 files, which are mostly thumbnails. I'm almost reaching my file usage limit! :(

Is there a way for this? I saw the clean thumbnails option, but I don't know how that works. Thanks a lot of for the answer!

p.s. Yes, 200,000 image files. You must think Im crazy. :D

Hi,

- normally 3 thumbnails of one file are created - all are used (small in categories view, medium in category view and large in detail view, etc. etc.)
- mostly, disk space on the server is the least problematic area but you can store your images on external servers like e.g. on Picasa, etc.

If you have 200.000 image files, that means, you should have 50.000 original images - so this is enough even not using Phoca Gallery :-(
