Phoca can't read pictures(JPG) with Chinese characters

Hi guys,

I got many jpg files with Chinese names. They are already in my FTP in the /images/phocagallery/ directory. When I want to use Phoca to unload the jpgs to the "Image" section no matter with "New" or "Multiple Add" methods the Phoca Gallery just can't read Chinese characters.

I can solve it by change the files name to English names first in FTP. And then upload the english files, then change the English files to Chinese again in the "Image" section in the Phoca Gallery. But there are thousands Chinese files. Is there any way for the Phoca to understand Chinese characters? I think maybe the Phoca did't conform to the UTF-8 specification or maybe the Joomla's problem.

Anyone can help me solve this problem cuz there are thousands of pics. :( Thanks.

Try to use "safe" encoded URL.
http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1738.txt
See "2.2. URL Character Encoding Issues" why
