I have created categori, and inside i have a few photos.
I put into article

{phocagallery view=categories|imagecategories=1|imagecategoriessize=0|hidecategories=2}

and i get

Allready i have installed

Phoca Gallery Image 3.1.6
Phoca Gallery Plugin 3.1.2
Phoca Gallery Slideshow Plugin 3.1.3

Hi, enable debug mode (Joomla! configuration) to get more information from database about the error.
