Installed slide show modules don't appear in list of modules

Situation: Joomla 2.5, Phoca gallery is installed, photos are added to a category.
Problem: I have installed three different slide show modules (floom, noob & nivo), all without error messages. When I go to Extensions -> add module I don't have a possibilty to select one of the modules, neither of them appears in the list.
Does anyone have a hint why I cannot see and choose one of the installed slide sho modules?
