There is no plugin for sh404sef and PhocaGallery that works with J2.5.1
As a matter of fact Phocagallery (although it is an excellent component and the best I have used so far) creates issues with sh404sef.
Example:
If you set Phocagallery to use the Joomla Router in the sh404sef component it breaks the sh404sef error page and the default joomla error page is shown (not a very good look for a professional site). If you use the 'default handler' option in sh404sef the images do not load in the lightbox.
You must leave the PhocaGallery component as non-sef urls in the sh404sef component for all functions to work correctly but then you do not have sef for gallery or images.
It would be good to see a sh404sef plugin for phocagallery as the need for search engine friendly urls in a site based around photos using phocagallery would be the best scenario. I am not a coder so I could not help with this. I did leave a request for this on uservoice (tab on right). Maybe you can vote for this.
Regards
Mike

Hello
I have the same issue. Phoca Gallery: Great. SF404SEH: Great!! But now they conflict in a way. I do not know if it is a phoca issue or a sf404seh issue. When i click in the mainmenu to see the categories: OK Then when i click in a category i return to the homepage....!!!
When i turn off sf404seh it works fine. So i think it is a sf404seh problem but when i post something on their forum, i receive the answer it is a phoca problem... and i am only a user...
Tried everytrhing told in this forum...
It always happen to me (seems..)

Hi, really not sure where can be the conflict, I cannot say it is a phoca or sh404sef, I standardly use core SEF and there is no problem. Links are not produced by Phoca Gallery but by Joomla! system - Jroute method.
Every phoca gallery link is stored in JRoute (Joomla! framework method) and Joomla! converts such link to be SEF compatible, as I wrote, this normally works with stadnard SEF. In fact Phoca Gallery does not produce links, it only uses the MVC of Joomla! and Joomla! drives the link behaviour by itself.
I don't know sh404sef and don't know how it works

Nobody from SEF extensions contacted me about such problem so really cannot say what is the conflict there

In this forum there were posts which described the conflict with sh404sef and I think the posts were solved ... but really not sure

Sh404sef is one of the most widely used components for URL management (not sure how anyone could never of heard of it or used it for that matter, considering it was Mambo extension and has been around for years). Are there ever plans to make a Phoca plugin for it? There currently is one for Joomla 1.5.
As you get ready to tell me to go to their forums, I already have. I am also asking the developers of Phoca if they ever plan on integrating with sh404sef. You guys could sell this! I am sure there are many people that would pay for it (I know I would).
Thanks for you time.

Hi,
I don't have any problem to support sh404sef but because I am using standard SEF I really have no idea how to build such plugin. Phoca Gallery uses standard Joomla! JRoute methods to display links. This means, the component is ready for SEF and now depends on different SEF extensions if they will support it or not. I am sorry but I really cannot do a sh404sef plugin for Phoca Gallery as I don't know how the plugins works (Yes, I would like to learn it but unfortunatelly, Joomla! is changing dramatically, I didn't finish overwriting all core features of Joomla! 2.5 for all Phoca extensions and now Joomla! 3 depreciates a large amounts of core features, so for now all the extensions need to be overwritten again - maybe sometimes I will find time for doing all the listed and asked plugins

)
