Images display in groups

I have installed phoca gallery and using it into articles with the line {gallery}foldername{/gallery}. the gallery works good.
The images appear in groups of 3 and when clicking on them the lightbox pops up and you can see all photos one by one.
What i want to do is to change the image display before clicking on an image. Make the images appear in groups of 5. And when having more than 5 images in the folder to appear in groups of 5 in multiple rows.
I have tried to do this through the options but I cant figure it out. I change the options but when I check the articles I see that nothing has changed and everything is displayed like before.
Is there anyone who can help? I think thats a common setting but I cant find a way to do it.
