Extra Long Captcha

Ok, so my Guestbook just started using the Captcha that includes the 50 different characters. Even though it's set to use the Math Captcha. While changing it back is easy enough - what I don't get is how this Captcha works. I see it listed in the documentation, but it doesn't show which Captcha it is or how to use it.
