Public categories not visible

When I create some public categories with subcategories and upload some images to them they are not visible in the frontend even I made them Public. One has to register to make them visible.
On my computer (localhost) everything is oke but on the live-site it fails.
Changing the value of the column Access in the database table from 1 to 0 solves the problem but this is hardly a solution.
Somebody has an idea?

Hi, no idea there, testing it and see no problem there

(I am working now on Phoca Gallery 3.1.5 and making some changes in youtube upload rights so tested all rights and seems everything is Ok there

)

Hi Jan ! I have still the same problem, although I updated PhocaGallery to 3.1.5. under Joomla 2.5.2.
Most unfortunate, since you have to manually change value in database, Access column, from 1 (public) to 0 (zero).
Still my favourite component.
Hope you can find where it bugs. Thanks

Hi, this is really problem, I tested all different settings and still got no such behaviour

so for now really no idea where can be the problem

Thanks for trying again. My preferred webbrowser Firefox 10.0.2. I admit this is really tricky and annoying. Please don't give up. Anyone else facing the same problem ? Thanks.

Hi Jan ! I have upgraded to PhocaGallery 3.2.0 and Firefox 12.0. Still no change in problem. Where could the bug hide ?
What can I do ? Working straight from database on server is no pleasant workaround, since it requires more time and can induce errors. Please help ! ... Thanks

Hi Jan, back again, this time with some "good" news !
I have been through the forums with key words like "Registred only", "You are not authorized ..."; "You have no right to access..." , which have returned a series of similar problems.
In PhocaGallery it seems that it was indeed a question of ACCESS RIGHTS in the users options (Options, Users tab) : when creating a new category, I selected users under "Access Rights", "Upload Rights" and "Delete Rights". Since on my website only administrators have such rights, it seems there is no need to specify names. The category shows "public" and there is indeed a "1" in the database : access =1 and rights (for the 3 kinds mentioned above) = 0 since nobody is selected.
This seems to do trick, and the categories, subcategories now appear nicely in the front end
No need anymore to go into the database on the server to adapt anything manually. Saves a lot of time.
