[Feature request] add (sub)categories in frontend

High Jan!
great work

! I'm preparing a first installation with phoca galley for a new customer. I'm quite happy with phoca gallery, hopefully the customer's happy too, so I'll be able to make a part of my income as donation (I'll always do that)...
But there's only one thing missing. Uploading an image works fine but I didn't find a possibility to enable a registered user to add new subcategories for new images....
This would be a very nice feature and should not be a hard thing to relize for you. At my point of view it could work similar to that:
- the user must have right(s) to one or more base categories
- when the user is logged in, he should have the right to add new categories in frontend
- all categorie's settings will be similar to the base category
Thanks again for your great work

Hi, now user (registered user) can create only one category in the root (it is not so easy, there will be created category for the user, folder on your server for the user, added new rights for the categories, ...) ... so because of security and of diffucult assess rights user can add only one category in root yet...

Hi there!
It should be possible that user generated categories are "unpublished" by default. So a Admin need to "moderate" the categorie an can change it e.g. to an sucategorie.

High Jan,
thanks 4 your response. I understand.. Difficutlies in right setting are clear esp. cause the settings are needed for the new categories. I had this in mind when I said: copy the settings and the rights from the base category. When defining 1 user for each base-category, all settings were "readable" from the database
So it should not be so difficult to realiue that.
What do you think?

High Jan!
thanks for your reply. Did you have a chance to have a look for my feature request?
By the way: I marked in my forum profile to be notifictated by answers. But this seems not to work? Any ideas?

Hi, it is in feature request list, but I cannot say when I find time for it

Now I have problems to answer all the topics in forum and email questions

so cannot say

there is a problem with creating folder for all subcategories (security reasons, creating new behaviour where not only category but a tree of categories must be displayed - in the frontend)
Add BTW: sometimes I don't understand why phpbb3 doesn't send email, maybe try to look at your profile, maybe there is some settings for it

)
