Hi all,

I've looked through some of the last pages of the forum but did not find an answer to my problem (also because of the not-working search function ).

I have Phoca Gallery configured so that it by default shows 20 pictures per page in the category view (Pagination Default Value). The first problem – which I had yesterday but today mysteriously does not occur anymore – was that the links to change to the different pages as well as the drop-down box to select another pagination value were not displayed. So there was no chance to see a picture higher than number 20.

One issue which I still have is that the slideshow in the details popup is limited to the 20 pictures on the current page. If I use a detail popup that provides arrows to go to the next/previous picture, the "next" arrow gets disabled when I reach picture 20. The number of the picture is also shown as "20 von 20" (in English: "20 of 20") although the category contains more pictures.
This issue occurs with Shadowbox, Highslide JS (Image Only), as well as JAK Lightbox. Is there any setting in Phoca Gallery that may cause this issue? Or is this a known limitation?

My Phoca Gallery version is 2.8.0 on Joomla! 1.5.25. Would it help to update to 2.8.1? The release notes only say something related to a change for Picasa (which I'm not using).

Yes this is a known limitation ,because this is the difference between Image and Iframe Method.

thanks for the answer. This is really sad because I liked the Highslide JS (image only) popup with the row of thumbnails at the bottom of the page.

If I use one of the IFrame popup types I can't see any arrows or other possibility to go to the next/previous picture. If I click on a thumbnail I just get this one picture in the popup. The only thing I can do is close it again. Did I miss something here?

For me this is a really bad limitation that the "fancier" popup types only work with a part of the pictures in the category. From a user/viewer perspective this is IMHO not very easy to understand.

ich sehe, dass Du einen möglichen "workaround" schon selbst gefunden hast. Du hast die Anzahl der auf einer Seite darstellbaren Bilder hochgesetzt. So kannst Du auch mit der von Dir favorisierten Image Methode alle Bilder einer Kategorie in einer Slideshow anzeigen (weil es ja keine Pagination gibt). Du must nur aufpassen, dass Die Kategorien nicht zu groß werden, weil Du sonst Speicherprobleme bekommst. (Meine größte Kategorie umfasst 170 Bilder und damit gehts bei mir noch...)
Das Du jetzt mit der Modal Box keine Buttons unter Deinen Bilden siehst liegt vermutlich daran, das das Fenster zu klein ist.
Wenn Du den Wert für Höhe des Detailfensters erhöhst, müsstest Du auch die Button sehen..
backend --> Komponenten --> Phoca Gallery --> Kontrollzenntrum --> Einstellungen --> Größe der Bilder und Fenster - Einstellungen -->
Breite für das Detailfenster=(so lassen wie er ist)
Höhe für das Detailfenster=(in der Modal Box sind die Button unter dem Bild, deshalb diesen Wert vergrößern)

Okay, das war wirklich das Problem. Ich hatte vermutet, dass sich die Größe des Popups automatisch an die Größe des Bildes anpasst (so wie auch bei den Image Method-Lösungen). Wenn ich irgendwann mal größere Bilder auf die Webseite setze, muss ich ja jedesmal dran denken, diesen Wert anzupassen.

Die Image Method zu benutzen und die Anzahl der Bilder auf einer Seite zu erhöhen, würde natürlich schon gehen. Aber eigentlich möchte ich das nicht, weil die Aufteilung auf mehrere Seiten die Übersicht erhöht. Und außerdem kann der Benutzer der Webseite dann immer noch die Anzahl der Seiten über die Dropdown-Box reduzieren (oder ich müsste die auch noch abschalten). Und dann hat er wieder nicht alle Bilder in der Slideshow.

Ich finde beide Lösungen leider recht suboptimal

Ich habe jetzt auf Modalbox umgestellt, habe nun aber das Problem, dass die Reihenfolge der Bilder in der Slideshow total zufällig ist. Ich habe schon die Einstellungen "Kategorien Bildsortierung" und "Kategorie Bildsortierung" geändert – steht jetzt alles auf "Aufsteigende Sortierung" – aber das ändert nichts. Bei den anderen Popup-Typen ist die Reihenfolge aber richtig.

Phoca Gallery ist ein ziemlich umfangreiches Programm mit "vielen, vielen Schrauben an denen man drehen" kann..
Je mehr Optionen es gibt (und die meisten davon wurden von Nutzern gewünscht und nur deshalb von Jan implementiert), desto schwieriger ist es Übersichlichkeit zu waren..
In PG für j1.6/1.7 ist es etwas übersichtlicher, weil da die Optionen in Tabs organisiert sind.
