Unable to get gallery to render as demo examples

I have just installed the gallery and have battled with the display with no joy so hope I can get a pointer from you folks.

I want to use the "Categories, Images and Detailed Information style layout on a 2 column display but when I select this I get an ugly white blank image smack bang in the middle. I can hide this through the config but it keeps the text at the bottom of the box.

To make things worse it renders blue for the full gallery category even under the heading and the box line over spills at the top.

I have tried it on two servers and both do exactly the same...

I have have attached an image of the way it looks.

Hope you can give me a solution to this.

Hmm, can I see a link to site with standard template - to check the code on the site?

Many thanks for the response. I had removed Phoca as I did not want to launch the gallery with the display issue.

However, given the power of the gallery I have quickly recreated Phoca with a new install and the same problem is evident.

Advice very welcome.
