Security settings labels are ignored

The guestbook (v1.5.3) on my site is filled with spam messages every day. I enabled a lot of security settings labels in the phoca guestbook component (forbidden words, IP Ban, Maximum URL’s) , but they just seem to be ignored totally. Spam is submitted via an IP address that is in the IP Ban for instance. Same is for spam with forbidden words. Can you provide support to solve this? Thanks.

Hi, try to read:
https://www.phoca.cz/documents/3-phoca-g ... -from-spam
Important is to set security settings in global configuration
some useful methods: setting specific Itemid, setting Akismet, adding option to post only by registered, etc.
IP: check if the IPs were set in both parameters (global configuration, parameters in menu link), check if they are separated correctly - by comma (,) Some user created long post about not working IP ban and the problem was, he had not correctly separated the IPs
