Hi

I have been searching for months with no solution.

Does someone have phoca gallery working with indexed pages in their sitemap?

I can't even get the categories for my galleries to get indexed in my sitemap.

I searched for the famous plugin but I can't find it anywhere is either outdated or links don't work.

Is a shame that we can't get our categories indexed for SEO, a big issue actually cause the component is great.

I donwloaded Joomgallery and got them indexed automatically but I just preferr this component...

Pls someone help :x

I'm using joomla 1.5 and Phoca latest version.

Hi, the problem is that Phoca Gallery uses popups to display details of image - popups cannot be indexed (search more info about why in the forum)... So I think, developer of Xmap plugin for Phoca Gallery knew it and didn't do such option.

So in fact two steps must be done:
- in Phoca Gallery - enable nopup method - to display image on its own site
- modify the plugin to display sites (as most of users are using popups, there is nobody who has written such modification yet :-(, I think, so this needs to be written)

I just want to say that I would LOVE to get an xmap plugin that would work with Phoca Gallery when using no popup. I try to always convince my clients to use the no popup choice so that search engines can at least read the HTML. Phoca Gallery is my favorite image gallery largely because of this.

actually pop ups can be indexed fine. the links are there. if you disable JS the thumbs link to an image in the browser, so it is perfectly reasonable to have links added to the sitemap. I dont know how though, I came here looking for a plugin/extension to do it.

Hi, there is no problem with the links, they are here, but the problem is, then clicking on the link will direct you to empty page with image - without any navigation, etc.

For the sake of SEO, I ONLY use the No Popup choice in Phoca Gallery, and I give each image metatags. Phoca Gallery is brilliant for this. I have had NO PROBLEM with the XMAP plugin when I work in this way.

I'm giving a talk at Joomla World this Saturday November 17, 2012 that features this plugin. The talk is called Search-friendly image gallery.

Hi, if you have some presentation documents for this, will be great to get the link to them (after your talk) so all (include me) who will not be presented there, will get some information regarding this issue.

Thank you, Jan
