Watermark Transparency

After some testing vs RSGallery2 and JoomGallery I have selected Phoca component for a project, just now i`m starting to put the 'file system' together so that the customer can start to build their galleries.

This question is how to enable watermark transparency ?

It would appear that rather than merging images on page display Phoca merges at upload or thumbnail refresh ? So a change in watermark requires a thumbnail refresh to get the new watermark 'into' the image ? I have created watermarked on medium and large thumbnails (in fact i removed medium) using the documentation, i would prefer the watermark to be a be transparent eg maybe 50% ? I don't see any setting for transparency, i found a related post but i think it is about a plugin rather than the component.

Any suggestions/pointers/ideas on how to make a transparency value during the merge process ? which file handles this watermark 'merge' so i can start digging there.

thanks

Hi,
This question is how to enable watermark transparency ?
There is no parameter to set watermarks to transparent. You must set the transparency in your watermark. If you use e.g. GIMP you can set the transparency during the creation of your watermark.

see documentation: https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... -watermark

Kind regards,
Benno

hi benno, I`m not sure i explained it properly, i have a white watermark with a transparent background, but when i merge this within Phoca i get a solid white watermark with the expected original image background, what i`m looking for is to my white watermark 50% transparent so that i can 'see' the original background image through it.

EDIT : apologies i had explained fine, and you answered correctly but i misunderstood :P :P save a .png in photoshop with 50% opacity and it is as you described
