Language options?

Hello!

Just installed your Guestbook on my website, and it looks great so far. I have one question, though:

Is it possible to change the words on the buttons and the labels on the text fields to my language (danish)?

I tried to download and installed this: Danish (Dansk) and Danish J16 (Dansk).

They don't work. I get this error message when I try to install Danish J16 (Dansk):

"JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file".

So, I don't have alot of options, it seems. Is there a way to change the different words/labels manually, though?

Cheers,
ufoldager

Hi,
you didn't mentioned which joomla version you are using.
If you use joomla v1.5 download this file and extract it local on your pc: http://joomlacode.org/gf/download/frsre ... stbook.zip
If you use joomla v1.6/1.7 download this file and extract it local on your pc: http://joomlacode.org/gf/download/frsre ... ok-j16.zip
You will find two files.
Copy both files per FTP to:
/language/da-DK
and
/administrator/languages/da-DK

Kind regards,
Benno

Sorry, I am using Joomla! 1.7. The Guestbook webpage works great, but I still need to translate the form buttons into danish. I installed the language files that you directed me to, but I still see no option anywhere to switch the language of the Guestbook to danish.

Thank you!

I only see English as available in the 3 menu's in the Language Manager.

I uploaded both files to both folders, just as you adviced me to.

Do I need to do something else maybe?

I have the same problem. The default Language is set to German. Files are copied to /language/de-DE and Administrator/language/de-DE

@ufoldager
I only see English as available in the 3 menu's in the Language Manager.
This means, you didn't install joomla! danish language, and therefore the danish translation for Phoca Guestbook can't work.
I don't found an danish 1.7 tanslation, but I found a joomla da-DK full install package http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/danish ... ge_id=5976

@King Crimson
Ich wußte nicht, das irgend jemand diese Kapelle noch kennt (außer mir...)
Files are copied to /language/de-DE and Administrator/language/de-DE

"Deprecated install format (client="both"), use package installer in future
Aborting language installation: Unknown client Type [both]"
Gruß

Hallo,

das Thema hat sich für mich erledigt. Ich hatte die falsche Sprachdatei heruntergeladen. Es gibt auch eine für V1.7.
Vielen Dank trotzdem für die Unterstützung
