java upload = error 401

Hello,
When using JAVA UPload I will get the response:
Received HTTP status 401 Authorization Required.
After checking via google, I found out, that the reason is the administrator/hcaccess.
How can I solve this? I do not want to de-active the administrator/hcacces. I always was lucky about the Phoca Gallery.
Since I have changed to another provider, (last week) there was the possibility to set this hcacces, which I always want to have.
So .... but now, I hv to load one by one ...
Regards x thanks, Christine

Hi, this is a problem for java, if there is protected access to e.g. administration by htaccess, the java cannot access it

so in fact the java cannot be used then

Hi Jan,
Sorry for late reply. Thanks for your answer, .... that means, no solution is planned (?)
May I ask you in this thread in addition:
When checking backend (Phoca gallerie) the rights accordingly, I see:
Access right: All R. Users / Nobody / Administrator (nothing marked)
Upload and Add ... etc.: as above. Blue marked:
nobody
Delete etc. ...: as above. Blue marked:
nobody
Owner: nobody / Administrator (nothing marked)
Question: Is above correct? Fyi: I#m the 'only one' on that.
Want just to understand the 'history' behind
Should I 'change' something on it?
Thank you for helps,
regards: Christine

Hi, you need not to set nobody, if noone will be set, noone has rights to do something - upload, delete, publish/unpublish

Hi Jan,
thank you for your answer.
This 'nobody' was/is set 'automatically' from system

Never I changed something on it.
So, if you mean,
... if noone will be set, noone has rights to do something - upload, delete, publish/unpublish
why can I upload, delete, publish?
Of course, I'm the only one .... (backend as S. Admin)
Thank you and regards, Christine

Hi, these are settings for frontend, not administration.

Hi Jan,
aha, that's clear now

As I'm not using log-in in frontend .... that's I had this question.
Thank you, Christine
