I think that I cannot change my category list view. Settings doesn't influence anything. Currently I have

and I want to have sth like that:

How can I achieve that?

Hello, the version is 2.8.0

in v2.8.0 there are two different places to do this settings:

1.) backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Phoca Gallery Control Panel --> Parameters --> Categories View Settings (List of Categories) --> Display Categories Style=Categories, images and detail informations
Save your settings!

2.) backend --> Menus --> Your Menu with link to Phoca Gallery Component --> Your link to Phoca Gallery Component --> Menu Item: [ Edit ] --> Phoca Gallery Category List Layout --> Parameters (Component) --> Categories View Settings (List of Categories) --> Display Categories Style=(Should be)Use Global(or)Categories, images and detail informations
Save your settings!
Be aware, 2 is able to overwrite 1 !!

Change of these options doesn't influence view of categories list:/ I've already tried doing it in both menu position and in component control panel, but I thought that there must have been another way or I was doing sth wrong. In that case I'm pretty confused. Perhaps my phoca instalation is wrong? Or my chmods are wrong? But I didn't get any errors....

Hi, check if the menu item you are setting is the same you can see in the frontend

Itemid (in url with sef disabled) should be the same like id of edited menu item in admin
