I've read other posts regarding this issue, but in my case I've been using Phocagallery with Picasa web albums for two weeks and I had no problems since yesterday. Suddenly, it takes 9 seconds (10mb connection) to load a 5 pic gallery. The detail images open quickly, no problem here. It's just when I try to load the category that contains the thumbs.

I used Phocagallery saving the images on my server, but as I was running out of space, I tried to upload all my albums to Picasa (about 130 albums by now, around 3,000 images) two weeks ago. I haven't uploaded more albums since then. So in these two weeks, my 130 albums ran perfectly, 'till yesterday as I said.

My thumbs and medium images size is the same as the ones in Picasa, as suggested in the documentation. I haven't made any changes since two weeks ago when I uploaded all the albums and deleted my old gallery on my server.

Can anybody help me, please??

Hi, in fact Phoca Gallery only stores the link to Picasa images on Picasa servers, then while displaying it only loads the links and display them inside image tags, so possible slowdown effect can only occurs between:

User browsers - Image server (Picasa) but what exactly can slow down the loading of the images, really no idea

I posted a message at Picasa forum and got no reply yet, but I really think the problem is in their server. As I said, I've been using the same albums with Phoca Gallery and of course with the same browsers, and the problem appeared the very same day that Google launched the Google+ option. It means that I can store pics up to 2048 pixels without wasting space (normal Google accounts only allow pics up to 800 pixels without wasting space). Just to try it, I opened a new normal account and tried to load a new album, but the images are slow as well.

If I get an answer from Picasa, I'll post it here in case there are more people with this problem.
